What's required to secure our date?

A signed contract and 25% retainer payment is required to secure your date.

What are your packages, and what's included in each?

All of my collections are custom-made for each couple’s needs, but all collections at minimum includes full day coverage, a 48-hour teaser, planning assistance, an online gallery, and a print release.

How do we book you?

Submit my inquiry form via my contact page. I'll reach back out to confirm my availability, and we'll schedule a video call to get to know each other, see if we're a good fit, and recommend the best collection for your celebration. Then I'll email you the contract and invoice for that collection. Once the contract is signed and 25% retainer payment is made you're officially booked! 

What happens after we book you?

I'll send you my wedding planning guide to give you some tips as you get further into planning. I'm always here as a resource, so if you want vendor recommendations or need feedback on your timeline I'm happy to give guidance! I'll check in with you again about 4-6 weeks from your date to finalize details, and I'll send you my pre-wedding questionnaire to fill out on your own time. 

On your wedding day I'll be executing the vision we discussed, flowing between anything pre-planned and finding inspiration in the moment. My goal is for you to enjoy it and be as present as possible, and I'll step in when needed for things like group photos and couple photos. 

When you're still riding the high of the day, you'll receive a teaser with highlights from the day within 48 hours that you can share with loved ones if you wish. Then your full gallery will come several weeks later. Any booked print products like albums will be produced after that. 

Do you travel for destination weddings? Is there a travel fee?

Yes, I love to travel and have captured weddings both domestically and internationally! There is no travel fee, or any hidden fees for that matter. The price you see in your collection is the total price.

How far in advance should we book you?

Most couples book within 4-16 months of their wedding date, but if you're not in that window we can still chat. Dates are reserved by a first-come, first-serve basis, so earlier notice works in your favor. If you're planning an elopement and are flexible on the date, we can chat more about a good time frame to ensure my availability and give us enough time to plan.

Is a deposit refundable if plans change?

The 25% retainer payment you make is not refundable, as that's holding your date and covers some of the pre-planning work I do. However, if your wedding is canceled, any payments made beyond the retainer are refundable. If your date changes and I'm available, there are no additional fees. If your date changes more than 90 days out and I'm not available, any payments made beyond the retainer are refundable.

How would you describe your photography style?

My style is a mix of documentary (candid, in-the-moment, emotional and story-driven) and editorial (magazine cover-worthy). I truly believe the best wedding days are when you're fully present and not worried about a shot list or how you look on camera. There is so much emotion and many fleeting little moments that best speak to the uniqueness of your day and who was there, and I can best capture that when I'm less intrusive. 

When we have time allotted to create more staged images, such as group photos and couple photos, that's where I step in as a creative director and can create those images you'll want to have printed and hung on your wall. I don't expect you to know how to pose yourself, so I'll provide guidance with a mix of prompts (natural, candid, fun) and posed (classy, regal) depending on your vibe as a couple and what you're looking for.

In terms of editing, my work is true to color and film-inspired. I like a little touch of moody or drama as well. Skin tones of all shades are prioritized and greens look natural. Select images in your gallery will be in black and white as well.

Can we see a full gallery, not just highlights?

Do you bring a second photographer or assistant?

Yes, sometimes. It depends on the wedding and what collection is booked. Larger weddings (100+ guests) are highly recommended to have a second photographer and/or assistant. Second photographers are a great addition because they make the day more relaxed, and add another perspective which is particularly useful during times when things are happening simultaneously, like getting ready and cocktail hour. It's also great to have during moments like a first look, and capture more the guests' experience of the day. Another breakdown could be one on film or drone, one on digital. We basically tag team things as needed, and I fully trust the second photographers I bring along. 

How would you describe your approach to working with couples and capturing the day?

I aim to bring out the true essence of every couple and the unique, personal touches they bring to their day. Yes, weddings can be a template, but what makes them unique is the couple and the decisions they make for how they want things to unfold. Authentic imagery is created through the pre-planning process where I get to know you better: what your personalities are like, what you like to do for fun, and what you value. That, along with your timeline, is noted and used as a guideline for the day. Any visual references or requests are mixed in (things like a Pinterest or overall feel a couple requests for their imagery). 

It's rare for a wedding to go 100% according to the timeline, so the notes I have are our guideline. If things need to flex day of, that's totally fine, and I'll check in with you to make sure you're good with it. I'll be reminding you of what's coming next regardless, as I fully expect you not to remember exactly how we laid everything out. I want you to relax and enjoy it as much as possible! 

I'm easygoing and laidback, so I often hear that people feel comfortable around me quickly. I'm always observing and anticipating what's happening which helps get amazing candid moments. I'll step in when needed at certain points throughout the day (like group or couple photos), and hang back as a fly on the wall in other moments. They day is about you and your loved ones, not meant to be a giant photoshoot.

How do you handle low light or bad weather?

Low light is no issue, I've encountered it many times. My camera gear is suited specifically for low light, and I have plenty of added lighting I bring to every wedding.

My camera gear is weather resistant but not fully waterproof. To combat this, I have rain gear that gets mounted on my cameras to keep them dry if needed. I also have backup gear for just about everything in case of tech failure, such as overheating. I always check the weather beforhand to make sure I have everything covered just in case.

What happens if you're sick or unable to make it?

This is extremely rare, I've actually never had to deal with an emergency so far in my seven years of capturing weddings (thankfully). However, life can be unpredictable and if something were to prevent me from being able to be there, I would find a trusted replacement photographer as soon as I know I'm unable to attend. I have a network of wedding photographers who I've worked with and have a similar style. They would have all the information we talked about as their guideline for the day: contact information, timeline, vision, etc. 

They'd deliver the raw images to me as soon as possible after the wedding, and I would handle the editing per my signature style, and pick up where we left off in terms of communciation.

What if we need to change our timeline or add something last minute?

It's no problem. I understand hiring a photographer is often one of the first vendors booked and you may not have all the details figured out just yet. When you book with me you're booking the date, so things like additional coverage or print items can be revisited later. The only thing you cannot to is remove items from your collection once booked. If you're anticipating wanting additional day(s) of coverage, please let me know as soon as possible to have the best chance of my availability. Either way, letting me know where your head is at with potential changes is helpful, and I'm happy to meet with you again to go over options if you like.

All my wedding collections already include full-day coverage, so you don't need to stress about how many hours I'll be there. Things like a second photographer, drone, film, Polaroids, an album, and video can be added on later after booking. 

Do you carry liability insurance (many venues require this)?

Yep! I have an annual policy, and its terms are sufficient for just about every wedding I've been a part of. If needed, I can add coverage for your day as well.

I am also drone-compliant, meaning I have my Part 107 license and my drone is registered with the FAA. Sometimes venues ask for this as well.
